Day 1 - Düsseldorf

Very tired after the long flight from Sydney via Singapore.  I arrived at Düsseldorf Hbf by 7.30am and made my way to CVNJ Hotel only 2 minutes walk away.  Could not check in until 2.00pm so I left my luggage there and went for a walk through the city.

Walked along the Königsallée, the fashionable shopping strip and then to the Rhine riverfront. Lunch at Woyton Café - cold filtered coffee just the tonic to keep the sleepiness at bay.

After hotel check-in I spent a quiet afternoon and escaping the heat of the day.

Dinner at Brauerei Schumacher in Oststraße. Excellent Alt beer and I went for the full German pork knuckle, sauerkraut and mashed potato experience.
